Jay Rock’s Follow Me Home may have dropped last summer, but everyone continues to support the Watts emcee including West Coast artist, Murs.
The West Coast collective known as Black Hippy has quickly become one of the most revered group of emcees on the indie scene. Boasting a roster made up of Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, and Schoolboy Q, the group is changing hip hop’s perspective on real street music.
Jay Rock’s Follow Me Home may have been released last summer, but the hits just keep on coming from one of Watts’ finest.
After his official signing to Strange Music, Jay Rock hit the ground running in the independent game with several tours and the release of his debut album, Follow Me Home.
Jay Rock adds his primal presence to the Schoolboy Q song of living life raw and full of excess, “2 Raw” from Scoolboy Q’s mixtape Habits and Contradictions. Over the moody and claustrophobic production, the pair of Top Dawg Entertainment rhyme-spitters trade tales of their exploits, Jay Rock delivering his verse with a rapid-fire barrage that is yet another example of his flow versatility. The track serves as the final song in the critically acclaimed mixtape from Schoolboy Q and Top Dawg Entertainment.
